Don't you just love it when life throws you curve balls? I think I am just in one of those phases where I thought I had it all figured out (mistake number one!) and it turns out I really didn't! I've just been thinking a lot lately about what I do and where I want to be and what I want out of my life. This has led me to change directions a bit... at least I think that's what I'm doing! haha
Let me explain. Originally I was planning on finishing school next May, with graduation in July. My program is Masters in Education/Curriculum and Instruction, and I was planning to add on English as a Second Language, which is an extra 12 hours of coursework, or about 6 months. The reason I wanted the ESL was because I wanted the option of studying abroad, and the classes are all linguistics, which I find quite interesting.
I did some research and in order to teach abroad I don't actually need the masters ESL hours, and I would have to get some sort of TESOL certificate anyways, so I'm so busy and burned out, I decided there's no point in doing both. SO... what this means is that I'm graduating in November! November 7th, actually. Not only is it my birthday weekend, I will also get to graduate with my super awesome mom who is completing her Masters in Counseling. We will get to walk together! I'm really excited, and it's light at the end of the tunnel for me. It's going to be so great!
Graduation countdown: less than 4 months until the ceremony, less than 5 until NO MORE HOMEWORK!!! Woohoo! Get excited, people!
