But I'm eating like one.
I decided to challenge myself and cut out sugar for the month of April. It has been 3 weeks and I can honestly say I don't really miss it. Plus I'm getting thinner :) The first 3 days it was horrible, I had withdrawal headaches and didn't know what to eat. But now I don't really think about it. And I haven't cheated at all! So proud. Here are some sugar free things I love:
1. Sugar free pudding I am absolutely hooked on this. I eat chocolate as an after dinner snack. I eat vanilla or cheesecake with fruit and sugar free cool whip for a decadent dessert. It's amazing. I always lick the bowl.
2. Quaker Weight Control Oatmeal I prefer the maple brown sugar flavor, but I hear they are all good. I live off this stuff. It only has 1 gram of sugar and tastes amazing. Especially with milk.
3. Carrots When you go off sugar, naturally sweet things actually start to taste sweet. When I eat carrots at my desk, my friend, Marlon, says to me, "really? carrots?" And I reply, "yes, they taste like candy!" and it's true.
4. Smucker's Sugar Free Fruit Preserves this stuff is amazing on ANYTHING. I often mix it with the aforementioned pudding for a tasty treat. It's so good. Who says not eating sugar means you can't have anything good?
5. Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Sugar Free Gourmet Chocolates I have tried to stay away from high-fat, extra calorie treats, even if they are sugar free. The point is not just to cut out sugar, obviously, but to eat better and take care of my body. However, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, if you know what I mean. Rocky Mtn does an exceptional job with their sugar free stuff, you really don't taste the difference. We buy it for my dad every year at Christmas and he loves it.
I think that's enough for today. There are more things, if you want info I can give it to you. Reading labels has been an amazing education. One serving of Kraft Mac n Cheese has 6 grams of sugar! Gross! Take the sugar challenge. You may just find you don't want to go back.

I'm so proud of you, cuz. Let's be honest. I'm a sugar addict. I could never do this.
Shelly without sugar?!! I just don't believe it. Good for you. I would take the challenge, but I know I will forget. Plus, I LOVE icecream! It brings me so much joy. I miss my Shelly! Brady and I are in Utah now. Sorry we are not in Boston for your trip out there. I am very disappointed that that didn't work out.
