TV rots your brain

Well, here's the thing. I'm still sick. I tested positive for this. We also think I may have an adrenal problem, so ENT this week and looking for an endocronologist who can see me this century. Cross your fingers.

The real purpose of this post is to effectively demonstrate that TV rots your brain. I have had a lot of free time on my hands, and little energy to do much of anything, so I have been learning all about the world of daytime TV. Which rots your brain. Specific examples:

1. Dating shows: my current favorites include Dating in the Dark and The Millionaire Matchmaker. There are several others on MTV, which should honestly be its own category on this list, seriously. The reason dating shows are so ridiculous is that dating is bad enough in your regular life: it's stressful, emotional, often embarassing... so why in the world would you want to do it on national TV? The Millionaire Matchmaker is some of the most entertaining crap I have seen in a long time.

2. More to Love. I have not actually watched this show, but I really just hope people realize it's still blatant objectification of women. They are just fat women with big boobs, instead of skinny women with big (but fake) boobs.

3. Toddlers and Tiaras. This show is an amazing showcase of the world's worst parents ever, and little girls who will be in need of a lot of therapy later in life. Enjoy.

4. Commercials. I don't know what has happened with the advertising world, but there are some horrible commercials out there. It is unbelievable. For example, Froot of the Loom has these ads out right now. They make me want to die. I also really love drug commercials like this one. Let's make a commercial for all the depressed people out there sitting around in the middle of the day hating themselves and provoke them to jump off the roof. These commercials are OUT OF CONTROL!

5. Brooke Knows Best. This is a show brought to your home by VH1 (why can't you just play popup video 24/7?!) about the fascinatingly dramatic life of Brooke Hogan, who, does absolutely nothing. Most of the show involves her doing nothing with her two friends who I'm assuming she pays to do nothing with her, because otherwise there is no plausable reason why these adults have no jobs but live in an extremely expensive part of Florida.

6. John and Kate plus 8. I cannot even watch this show at all, because the blatant exploitation of these kids is completely out of control. I can't even write about it, I get really angry.

7. Nancy Grace. Things I would rather do than watch Nancy Grace for more than .4 seconds: drive golf tees under my fingernails; chew on broken glass; eat at Arby's with Joan Rivers (who I HATE).

8. The View. If you don't understand why this show is like kryptonite to brain cells, you don't have any left.

I think you're getting the idea. On the other hand, things I still like about TV (go ahead and judge me, it's only fair):

1. The Food Network
2. Friends and Seinfeld reruns
3. Sports
4. CSI
5. Batting Stance Guy
6. Wipeout (this is not an intelligent show, but it is freaking hysterical)

Your favorite and least favorite TV?

haha...so bryce and i watch more to love and seriously that dude is the BIGGEST horn-dog around! SOOOO funny and most of the girls have NO SELF-ESTEEM seriously...the whole show is all wrong. What about 18 kids and counting. That's my favorite show and it makes me SOOOOOO mad that it's 30 min each week and 1/2 of that is commercials so I get teased EVERY week.

WHAT NOT TO WEAR!!!! WHAT NOT TO WEAR!!!! I think you will agree that Stacy London and more importantly Clinton Kelly are the salvation of all TV kind!

Absolute favorite is "The Office”! Not too happy about Jim and Pam having a baby out of wedlock and all, but I still love it!

The worst is "The Hills", "The City" basically any show on MTV. The sad part is that I used to kind of like watching the hills and the city, thankfully I learned the errors of my ways.
